Origins:
"For years, I’ve tried to discover my ancestral connection to music. I started off by identifying profound memories of my childhood growing up in Cape Town, South Africa. The busy markets, friendly faces, vibrant characters. These small, yet powerful realisations of South African lifestyle is what drove me toward the musical direction."

Musical Inspiration:
"I drew my inspiration from modern and earlier African music from all corners. From the funky Afrobeat rhythms of Northern Africa, to the modern Afrohouse beats from South Africa. The combination of African rhythms and bass influences of New Zealand music-makers is what brought it all together."

Genre:
"The 2 tracks ‘Baka Yasap’ and ‘Bada Omide’ are a musical representation of where Northern and Southern Africa meet. Paying homage to the vast variety of drums, shakers and conga polyrhythms that Africa as a whole offers. I tried to meet somewhere between Afrohouse and North African dance music which is split into multiple su-genre of itself (such as Kuduro, Ango-Soca, Azonto etc)."
